  Objectives of the Campaign

  The campaign seeks to support and empower women facing challenges such as financial instability, emotional stress, and social exclusion. It aims to facilitate access to counselling, vocational training, and financial assistance.

  Key focus areas include:

  • Social Inclusion: Encouraging participation in religious ceremonies, Haldi-Kumkum gatherings, and other social activities.
  • Economic Empowerment: Promoting livelihood opportunities and income-generating activities.
  • Rehabilitation: Supporting rehabilitation and remarriage, wherever appropriate and based on individual choice.
  • Participation in Decision-Making: Encouraging women’s involvement in family, community, and local governance decisions.
  • Social Security: Facilitating access to government welfare schemes and social security benefits.

  Through this initiative, Zilla Parishad Nashik is striving to promote the dignity, self-reliance, social inclusion, and overall empowerment of single women.

Disability Employment and Self-Employment Fair

The Zilla Parishad Nashik Social Welfare Department is organizing an Employment and Self-Employment Fair for persons with disabilities under the scheme funded through the 5% Cess Fund. The initiative aims to provide employment and self-employment opportunities to eligible candidates aged 18 to 45 years.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants must be between 18 and 45 years of age.
• Minimum 40% disability, supported by a medical certificate issued by the District Surgeon or a valid UDID card.
• Applicants must be residents of rural areas and have resided in Maharashtra for at least 15 years, supported by a certificate from the Gram Sevak.
• The fair will be conducted for all 21 recognized categories of disabilities.
• The fair is planned as a one-day event.

Swavalambi Nashik Campaign

UDID Card for Every Person with a Disability

Under the initiative envisioned by Chief Executive Officer Shri Omkar Pawar, Zilla Parishad Nashik has launched the “Swavalambi Nashik” campaign to empower persons with disabilities and ensure their inclusion in mainstream society.

The campaign aims to facilitate timely access to government welfare schemes by ensuring that eligible persons with disabilities receive their disability certificates and Unique Disability ID (UDID) cards conveniently at the taluka level.

In accordance with the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, the initiative focuses on facilitating disability certification through the prescribed system for all 21 recognized categories of disabilities.

Through this campaign, Zilla Parishad Nashik seeks to make disability certification more accessible, simplify administrative procedures, and help eligible beneficiaries receive the benefits of government schemes.
