    Yevla (Yevle) – Introduction

    Yevla is a small town in the Yevla taluka of Nashik district, Maharashtra, India. The town is world-famous for its traditional hand-woven Paithani sarees. Although in some places, power looms are now being used, Yevla is still renowned for its traditional Paithani embroidery and intricate designs, especially the peacock motif, which is very popular. Many Paithanis produced here are also exported.

    Yevla taluka is located in the Nashik district of Maharashtra. It is situated 78 km from Nashik city. The taluka is famous for its traditional Paithani weaving art.

    Yevla Assembly Constituency (No. 119) is one of the 288 constituencies of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. According to the Delimitation Order, 2008, Yevla Assembly Constituency includes:

    2. Lasalgaon and Devgaon revenue circles of Niphad taluka

    Yevla Assembly Constituency comes under the Dindori Lok Sabha constituency.


    Historical & Cultural Facts

    • Tantia Tope, a famous freedom fighter of the 1857 Indian uprising, was born in Yevla.
    • Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar made his famous statement here on 13th October 1935:
      “I was born a Hindu, but I will not die a Hindu.”
      A memorial named Muktibhoomi was built at this site in 2014.
    • Yevla is also known as a drought-prone taluka, where onion cultivation is widely practiced.

    • 29 km south of Manmad
    • 33 km north of Shirdi

    1. Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Agricultural Self-Reliance Scheme

    This scheme is implemented for the Scheduled Caste category. Under this scheme, the following benefits are mainly provided:

    2. Birsa Munda Agricultural Revolution Scheme

    This scheme is implemented for the Scheduled Tribe category and includes:

    Eligibility Conditions

    • The farmer must have a caste certificate issued by the competent authority for SC/ST.
    • The farmer should own a minimum of 0.40 hectares to a maximum of 6.0 hectares of land.

    3. District Council (Zilla Parishad) SES Scheme

    Under this scheme, farmers receive 50% subsidy or limited subsidy for purchasing agricultural tools and seeds via DBT.


    4. National Biogas Development & Fertilizer Management Program

    Under this program, subsidies are provided for the installation of biogas plants.


    5. Natural Disaster Relief Scheme

    Farmers affected by natural disasters receive limited subsidies under the Zilla Parishad SES scheme.


    Prime Minister / Shabari / Ramai / Indira Awas Yojana

    Ramai Awas Yojana

    1. Eligibility Conditions

    • Beneficiaries approved by the Gram Sabha.
    • Beneficiaries should not have a pucca house.
    • Beneficiary must not have availed benefits of any previous scheme.

    2. Procedure for Determining Eligibility

    1. Beneficiary must belong to Scheduled Caste.
    2. Monthly income should be less than ₹10,000.
    3. No family member should have received benefits previously.
    4. Beneficiary must be approved by Gram Panchayat in Gram Sabha.
    5. Beneficiary should have own property or submit a consent letter.

    3. Procedure for Availing Benefits

    • Eligible beneficiaries submit proposals through Gram Panchayat.
    • After approval by Assistant Commissioner, Social Welfare Department, Nashik, beneficiaries are selected.
    • After administrative approval by Project Director, Zilla Gram Vikas Yojana, Nashik, funds are released.
    • Beneficiary receives ₹1,20,000 in three installments through Panchayat Samiti office.

    4. Benefit Details

    • ₹1,20,000 for house construction.
    • ₹246 per day for 90 days labor wages: ₹22,000.
