    About Nashik Zilla Parishad –

    ZPNashik

Panchayat Raj is an innovative experiment in the creation of modern India. The Balwantrai Mehta Committee has recommended a three-tier Panchayat Raj system to involve the rural people in rural development. Accordingly, the Maharashtra Government passed the Maharashtra Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti Act, 1961 on May 1, 1962 and established a three-tier Panchayat Raj system with Zilla Parishad at the district level, Panchayat Samiti at the group level and Gram Panchayat at the village level. Nashik Zilla Parishad was established on May 1, 1962. Today, 15 Panchayat Samiti and 1,373 Gram Panchayats are working for the development of rural areas. The 73rd Constitutional Amendment has given women participation in power and more rights have been given to Gram Panchayats through Gram Sabha. Nashik Zilla Parishad has always been at the forefront in implementing any new scheme, project, or campaign of the government.
