Rural Water Supply Department
Under the Rural Water Supply Department of the Zilla Parishad, water supply related works are being carried out in all 15 talukas of Nashik district. For this, the following sub-departments are functioning for a total of 15 talukas.

Also, the work related to water supply schemes in Sinnar taluka is being looked after by the Deputy Engineer, Z.P. L.P. Sub-Division, Sinnar.Also, a team is working for the maintenance and repair of rural water supply schemes and a Deputy Engineer (s) and Mechanical Team are working for hand pumps and electric pumps in the district.
The following schemes are implemented under drinking water facilities
- National Rural Drinking Water Programme
- This programme is based on public participation and is demand driven.
- Government Ashram School Water Supply Scheme
- Hand pump and electric pump works
- Local Development Programme
- Water supply works under Thakkar Bappa Scheme
- Repair works of drinking water schemes under maintenance and repair
The plan of the water scarcity programme is prepared by the Group Development Officer according to the quarters Drinking water facilities under scarcity:-
- October to December
- January to March and
- April to June and approval is obtained from the Hon’ble District Collector, Nashik. The following nine measures are taken under the scarcity
- Taking of dips
- Deepening of wells / removing silt
- Acquisition of private wells
- Supply of water by tankers / bullock carts
- Completion of projects in progress
- Special repair of tap schemes
- Special repair of dug wells
- Taking of new dug wells / well pipes
- Temporary supplementary tap schemeTo implement the above measures, a proposal is prepared at the level of Tehsildar and Group Development Officer at the taluka level and the measures are implemented as per the approved plan.
