Tribal Sub-Plan: Supply of medicines to veterinary institutions.
Nature / Information of the Scheme:
Veterinary patients are treated in the district through veterinary institutions. The government has approved financial quotas for the purchase of necessary medicines.
All types of medicines required for the treatment of veterinary patients are purchased as per this quota. Therefore, during the outbreak of infectious diseases, poisoning or natural calamities, the medicines purchased as per this quota are not sufficient.
Since additional supply of life-saving medicines is required to save the lives of sick/overworked livestock, this scheme is used to make it necessary for veterinary institutions to supply life-saving medicines.
Terms and conditions and eligibility for participation in the scheme:
- Medicines purchased from this fund are provided to veterinary institutions implemented under the tribal application scheme.
- Medicines purchased from this scheme are used for livestock by tribal livestock keepers.

District Annual Plan : – Kamdhenu Adoption Scheme
Scheme Nature / Information :
Under the District Annual Plan (General Plan), Kamdhenu Adoption Village Scheme has been implemented in the state from the year 2010-2011.
Under this scheme, the following programs are implemented: administering deworming medicine to animals, eradication program of gochid – go fly, organizing demonstrations to improve poor quality fodder, organizing milk competitions, vaccination camps, infertility prevention camps, blood and disease screening etc. Programs are organized in the form of campaigns in the adopted villages.
Terms and conditions of participation in the scheme and eligibility:
- The adopted village to be selected should be on the route of the existing or proposed milk collection centers (operated by private dairy / cooperative milk organization / government milk organization etc.).
- The number of productive cows / buffaloes in the said adopted village should be at least 300. Or at least two nearby villages should have 300 cows / buffaloes.
- The village in the jurisdiction of the veterinary institutions which has the highest number of milch animals should be selected as a priority.
- Priority should be given to villages where the village sarpanch and gram sevak are actively involved in milk collection centers / cooperative milk institutions.
District Annual Plan: Fodder and Animal Feed Development Program.
Scheme Nature / Information:
To fill the deficiency in fodder production in the district to some extent and to increase the productivity of livestock owned by livestock owners and accordingly, to provide sufficient green fodder to livestock owners for maximum milk production, it is necessary to take up fodder production on maximum area.
Terms and conditions and eligibility for participation in the scheme to implement this program with the aim of encouraging the production of sorghum on agricultural fields:
- While supplying sorghum seeds under this scheme, the beneficiary must have his own farm land with irrigation facilities for sorghum production.
- Preference should be given to beneficiaries who have at least 3 to 4 animals of their own.
- For sorghum production in one acre area per beneficiary, sorghum seeds/sorghum should be supplied at a subsidy of Rs. 600/-.
- The necessary fertilizers and microbiological agents for sorghum crops/sorghum should be purchased by the farmers at their own expense.
Special Component Scheme: Providing training on animal husbandry.
Scheme Nature / Information:
- The duration of the training class will be three days.
- The cost for each beneficiary is limited to Rs. 1000/- as per the following, hence the number of trainees is decided from the available funds for 2010-11.
- Training should be conducted on the animal field itself.
- Beneficiaries are given practical technical work on the field itself in the morning.
- Guidance is given on diseases of animals and accordingly on preventive vaccination and medication.
Terms and conditions and eligibility for participation in the scheme:
- The beneficiary should belong to the Scheduled Caste / Neo-Buddhist category.
- While selecting the individual beneficiary through the Amalbajawani Yantra, applications are invited by giving wide publicity and the most eligible beneficiary is selected after scrutinizing the applications received within the prescribed time.
- While selecting the beneficiaries, priority is given to selecting 30 percent women and 3 percent disabled beneficiaries of the total beneficiaries.
- While selecting the beneficiaries, it is mandatory to obtain the recommendation of the concerned Gram Panchayat.
- The selection of eligible beneficiaries is done through the District Level Selection Committee.
Innovative State Level Scheme: Distribution of milch hybrid cows/buffaloes
Scheme Nature/Information:
By adding dairy farming in the district, farmers will get assured and consistent income through dairy farming throughout the year. Also, self-employment will be created in rural areas by increasing milk production in the district. For this, the state level innovative scheme to distribute six groups of hybrid cows/buffaloes to promote milk production in the district has been approved in the meeting of the Cabinet on 01/06/2011.
50 percent subsidy i.e. Rs. 1,67,592/- while 75 percent i.e. 2,51,388/- government subsidy will be admissible to beneficiaries of Scheduled Castes/Tribes. Beneficiaries of open category will have to raise the remaining 50 percent amount in addition to the subsidy themselves or by taking a loan from a bank/financial institution. Beneficiaries taking loans from a bank/financial institution (10 percent beneficiary share and 40 percent bank loan for open category and 5 percent beneficiary share and 20 percent bank loan for Scheduled Castes/Tribes) should be given priority under this scheme.

The selection of beneficiaries from the general category as well as the Scheduled Caste/Tribe should be done in the following order of priority.

- Small landholding farmers (landholders up to 1 and 2 hectares)
- Educated unemployed (registered with the Employment and Self-Employment Center)
- Beneficiaries from women’s self-help groups (A.S. 1 to 4)
- While selecting beneficiaries, priority is given to selecting 30 percent women and 3 percent disabled beneficiaries of the total beneficiaries.
- While selecting beneficiaries, it is mandatory to take the recommendation of the concerned Gram Panchayat.
- Information about the beneficiaries given benefits is communicated to the Gram Panchayat.
- It is mandatory for the beneficiary to provide a certificate of not having a third child (small family certificate) after May 1, 2001.
Innovative State Level Scheme: Goat Group Allocation
Scheme Nature / Information:
The scheme has been given administrative approval by the government under the special state level scheme (under General / Scheduled Caste Sub-scheme / Tribal Sub-scheme) to provide supplementary income to farmers through goat rearing in the state in a non-violent manner.
The beneficiaries under this scheme are Osmanabadi / Sangamneri
A group of 10 breeding goats and 1 goat of a breed or breed that is resistant to local conditions is allocated. Under this scheme, 50 percent subsidy i.e. Rs. 43,929/- (for Osmanabadi / Sangamneri breed) and Rs. 32,443/- (for other local breeds) will be given to the beneficiaries in the open category for this group of 10 goats + 1 goat. For the beneficiaries of the Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe category, 75 percent subsidy i.e. Rs. 65,893/- (for Osmanabadi / Sangamneri breed) and Rs. 48,665/- (for other local breeds) will be admissible.

Innovative State Level Scheme: Poultry Farming
Scheme Nature / Information:
The scheme (under General / Scheduled Caste Sub-Scheme / Tribal Sub-Scheme) has been given administrative approval by the Government under this innovative scheme to start meat poultry farming business on a contractual basis in the district. This scheme is being implemented from the year 2011-12.
Under this scheme, beneficiaries of the general category will be given 50 percent of the project cost of Rs. 9 lakh per unit i.e. 4.50 lakhs, while beneficiaries of the Scheduled Caste / Tribe will be given 75 percent of the project cost i.e. Rs. 6,75,000/-. The remaining amount for the project, apart from the grant, will have to be raised by the beneficiary himself or by taking a loan from a bank/financial institution. For all general beneficiaries taking a loan from a bank/financial institution, the beneficiary has to raise a minimum of 10 percent self-funding and the remaining 40 percent bank loan, and for Scheduled Caste/Tribe beneficiaries, the beneficiary has to raise a minimum of 5 percent self-funding and the remaining 20 percent bank loan.

Tribal Sub-Plan: Establishment of new veterinary clinics
Scheme nature / information:
The government has approved the recommendations for establishing new veterinary clinics category-1 in the district as per the recommendations of the National Agriculture Commission.
Terms and conditions and eligibility for participation in the scheme:
- There should be 1 veterinary clinic of category-1 for every 5000 livestock units in the district in non-hilly areas and 1 for every 3000 livestock units in hilly areas.
- To calculate the livestock unit, 1 per large animal, 1 per 10 goats and sheep, 1 per 5 boars and 1 per 10 poultry birds, Livestock component should be counted. While counting livestock component, only the number of poultry birds in that area should be considered.
- While establishing a new Category-1 veterinary hospital, no other veterinary institution should be functioning within a radius of 5 km from the newly established institution.
- While establishing new Category-1 veterinary hospitals, the land required for residential / non-residential construction after the establishment should be made available free of cost by the Gram Panchayat. In such places where the Gram Panchayat will not provide free land, the establishment of a new Category-1 veterinary hospital should not be proposed.
- The responsibility of providing alternative land on rent-free basis till the construction of the newly established veterinary hospital is completed will be on the concerned Gram Panchayat.
Goat Group Distribution Scheme (10+1) under the Tribal Upoyojana
Scheme Nature / Information:
- The 10+1 Goat Group Distribution Scheme is implemented at the rate of 75 percent grant and 25 percent loan from a financial institution or cash share of the beneficiary.
- It is mandatory to take out 3-year insurance for all goats and goats (Osmanabadi / Sangamneri breed) and it is mandatory to have the insurance number in their ears.

- The beneficiary should belong to the Scheduled Tribe category.
- While selecting the beneficiaries, priority is given to selecting 30 percent women and 3 percent disabled beneficiaries out of the total beneficiaries.
- While selecting the beneficiaries, it is mandatory to take the recommendation of the concerned Gram Panchayat.
- nformation about beneficiaries given benefits is reported to the Gram Panchayat.
- It is mandatory for the beneficiary to provide a certificate of not having a third child after May 1, 2001 (small family certificate).
- The beneficiary of the goat group distribution scheme should have sufficient land of his own.
- The selection of eligible beneficiaries is done through the district level selection committee.
Talanga group allocation under tribal application scheme (28 females + 3 males)
Scheme structure / details:
- A group of 28 females + 3 males, i.e. 7 to 8 weeks old RIR / Vanraj / Giriraj breed birds, 50 percent subsidy of Rs. 3000/- and 50 percent beneficiary share amount will be provided to the beneficiaries for bird protection, nets, food, medicine, food and drinking water bowls etc. Arrangements have to be made.

- Photo/ID card of the beneficiary is required.
- Recommendation of Gram Sabha is required to provide the benefit of the scheme to the beneficiary.
